What is a "Business Evangelist"?

A Business Evangelist is a professional who acts as a passionate advocate for a company’s product, service, or brand, with the goal of driving awareness, adoption, and growth.

Often seen as the bridge between a business and its potential customers or partners, the evangelist works to communicate the value proposition of the company in a compelling and inspiring manner.

They are typically highly knowledgeable about the business’s offerings and market trends and can articulate how these solutions can address customer pain points, improve business performance, or drive innovation.

While this role is more commonly associated with tech companies, where evangelists help foster communities around new products or technologies, the principles can apply across industries.

A business evangelist can be a key player in both internal (within the company) and external (to potential clients, investors, or partners) brand advocacy, helping to establish the company as a thought leader and innovator in its field.

Key Duties:

               Product Advocacy and Promotion:

  • Serve as the company’s primary advocate, promoting its products or services to external audiences, including customers, potential partners, investors, and media outlets.

  • Share the value of the company’s offerings through various channels (events, webinars, blogs, social media, etc.).

  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations that clearly communicate product benefits and differentiation.

               Building and Engaging Communities:

  • Cultivate and engage a community of users, advocates, and partners around the brand or product.

  • Organize and participate in industry events, conferences, and user groups to build a network of ambassadors and potential customers.

  • Foster positive relationships with customers, thought leaders, and influencers in the relevant market or industry.

               Market Research and Feedback Loop:

  • Act as a liaison between customers and the company, collecting valuable insights, feedback, and suggestions to improve the product or service.

  • Stay on top of industry trends and competitive offerings to identify potential opportunities or threats to the business.

  • Advocate for customer needs internally, working with product and marketing teams to shape future offerings.

               Driving Adoption and Conversion:

  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to develop strategies that drive customer acquisition and product adoption.

  • Help create engaging content, case studies, testimonials, and success stories that resonate with target audiences.

  • Conduct product training sessions, demos, or onboarding sessions to ensure customers understand how to get the most value from the product.

               Internal Advocacy:

  • Support the internal culture by acting as a voice for the customer within the organization, promoting a customer-centric approach to decision-making.

  • Collaborate with product, marketing, and sales teams to align external communications with business goals.

  • Champion innovation and thought leadership within the company by contributing to product development, marketing strategies, and overall business vision.

               Thought Leadership and Public Speaking:

  • Represent the company in public forums such as conferences, webinars, podcasts, and media interviews.

  • Share knowledge, insights, and predictions about industry trends to establish credibility as a thought leader.

  • Write thought leadership articles, blog posts, or white papers that showcase the company’s expertise and vision.

               Relationship Management:

  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, partners, and influencers.

  • Engage with high-value customers to help tailor solutions to their needs and ensure they have a positive experience.

  • Monitor customer satisfaction and escalate any issues or concerns to relevant internal teams for resolution.

Why we call it "TENT" percent?

The Apostle Paul is often remembered for his missionary journeys and his theological writings, but he was also a skilled tentmaker by trade. In Acts 18:3, it’s noted that Paul worked alongside Aquila and Priscilla, fellow tentmakers, during his time in Corinth. This profession not only provided Paul with a source of income but also allowed him to maintain independence and avoid being a financial burden on the early Christian communities he served. Paul's tentmaking role also reflects his adaptability and work ethic, as he balanced his ministry with practical labor. It’s a vivid example of how he used his skills to support his mission while also building relationships with people from all walks of life, creating opportunities to share the gospel in both secular and sacred contexts
